My Story

I’m Crystal Jacobo, a first-generation Mexican and Colombian American, a mother, and someone who has always been drawn to the emotional world of children. From early on, I knew I wanted to be a steady and safe presence for children, someone children could trust with their feelings and experiences.

Understanding my own childhood taught me how early experiences shape who we become. That journey led me to this work.

My Experience and Approach

Since 2011, I’ve supported children and families across mental health and education, in both outpatient and school-based settings. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and credentialed School Psychologist, with advanced training in neurodevelopment, trauma, and attachment.

My approach is rooted in interpersonal neurobiology and the neuroscience of emotional regulation. I support children not just emotionally, but through their nervous systems, sensory experiences, and relationships. I offer a warm, collaborative space where families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams feel supported.

The Heart of My Work

Seeking support while raising a child is an act of love and courage, both for them and for yourself. No one is meant to do it all alone or have all the answers.
I was raised with the message that showing emotion was “too much,” and I know how heavy that can feel. Children deserve the freedom to experience their full emotional range without shame. Emotions aren’t something to suppress. They’re a guide, an inner compass.

One of the most meaningful parts of this work is walking alongside parents through the tender, sometimes confusing terrain of their child’s emotional life. Together, we co-create safety, understanding, and lasting connection. That is the heart of my work: honoring each child’s story while helping families grow stronger together.

If you feel called to learn more or begin a conversation, I warmly invite you to reach out. I’m here to walk alongside you and your family, or your school or community, with openness and care.

Beyond Therapy:  Glimpse Into My Life

When I’m not working, I find joy in nature, traveling, food, reading, and spending time with my family. These small moments of connection ground me in the same values I bring to my work: presence, curiosity, and care.
